Olaf Küng, born in Zurich in 1932, was an established commercial photographer in St. Moritz from 1956 until 2012.

 

From 1949 - 1952 he received his education as a photographer at the Photo Franz Schmelhaus in Zurich.
Besides that, he visited a photo class at the Art School in Zurich led by Hans Finsler and Walter Eggenberger.
- Hans Finsler (1891-1972), was one of the most distinguished architectural and material photographers of the 20th century.

 

From 1964 - 2012 Olaf Küng took photographs during the Winter season primarily in the Badrutt Palace Hotel,
the Chesa Veglia, the Corviglia Club and the Suvretta House and many other locations.
His subjects were people, portraits, social events, sporting events, jewellery, landscapes and art.

 

In 2012 he gave up his business in St. Moritz and retired.
From then on he lived in Maienfeld/GR, until he passed away in May 2020.
(He was burried in the familiy grave in St. Moritz)

 

His intimate knowledge of lighting and composition allows him to catch the essence of the moment.
Olaf's photographs are purchased by prominent people and customers from all over the world.
